Standardization is the core of any organization, to get efficient project delivery and data reuse. With the rise of advanced technologies, like AI and ML, it's even more important to have a standardized structure in place to maximize your data, both internal and external, in the most efficient way. But how can you establish this? And what are the steps you need to take to get it moving? In this class, we'll highlight how we developed tooling based on a core data structure in place. This class will give insights into what is possible with standardization and the connecting of different source systems to arrive at a single source of data insights and client delivery. We do this by using the Autodesk Platform Services APIs.

The way how we work is constantly changing, not only in engineering and construction but also in software development. In this class, we will show how in collaboration with Autodesk we have developed a tool that forms the data standardization backbone and client delivery at Arcadis. With the advancement in pre-construction technology and enhancements in the Model Coordination product on Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), we can now take a massive step toward delivering fully coordinated construction models. This will ensure the quality of construction and reduce the wastage of construction materials. The key factor in delivering fully coordinated construction models is a closed-loop clash management system that allows stakeholders to identify and address potential clashes early in the project lifecycle. This results in reduced risks of delays and cost overruns, thus increasing project efficiency and enhancing project quality. In this lab, you will learn about automated clash detection using Model Coordination. You will get hands-on experience with the "closed-loop" end-to-end issue management system, supported by notifications so the users can be notified when you create clash issues. Finally, you will learn how to close the loop by resolving the clashes and changing the issue status to reflect the clash resolution.

As a virtual design and construction (VDC) manager for a general contractor (GC), one of the largest headaches is making sure your subcontractors get their models uploaded to your Autodesk Construction Cloud hub on time, and that they're named correctly and in the right format to make Model Coordination work seamlessly. What if it didn't have to be that way? If your subcontractors also happened to be working in Autodesk Construction Cloud, it doesn't have to be. What if they just published their own models internally and all the sharing happened automatically? This class will cover how to use the Bridge tool in Autodesk Construction Cloud to enable automatic sharing of models between Autodesk Construction Cloud hubs to streamline model coordination. Not only will we cover how to share models from the subcontractor's hub to the GC hub and then on into your coordination NWF, but we'll also show you how to share models from one subcontractor to another to enable direct coordination between subcontractor Revit models.

Sabesp is the largest sanitation company in the Americas and one of the largest in the world. It is responsible for water supply and sewage collection in 375 municipalities, serving 28+ million people. The company's large numbers are accompanied by complex challenges. This presentation will explore the experience of an ambitious corporate building information modeling (BIM) implementation program, in its first wave of implementation. This implementation has as one of its main objectives the development of and access to asset information with a focus on commissioning. The program is in its second year of implementation, and you'll be able to check the advances obtained in themes that include: development of libraries and templates, development of unified processes for the use of a common data environment [Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Docs, and Autodesk Platform Services (formerly Forge)], GeoBIM integration (Autodesk and Esri/GE SmallWorld), and BIM and ERP (SAP) integration. The entire technology base used in this implementation is supported by Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection from Autodesk.

Technology in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is changing rapidly. To keep up with this accelerated pace, VHB is stating that our default design practice will be model-based design (MBD) by 2025. This means training 800+ Civil 3D users in more-automated, connected, and advanced workflows. We recognize that to create this large-scale shift we need to train a generation of innovative and inspiring coaches to help guide others through this change. Advanced MBD Training was created to mold 10% of our Civil 3D users into MBD Project Coaches. As MBD Project Coaches, they'll be expected to advance MBD from automating processes to creating more-efficient workflows. The training will focus not only on our core tool, Civil 3D, but it will also include Dynamo, InfraWorks software, Subassembly Composer, Grading Optimization, ArcGIS Connector, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Twinmotion. This session will walk through how we built and implemented this program to accelerate change at VHB.

ISO 19650 is a widely adopted standard for managing construction information that organizations are using to improve collaboration, productivity, and asset information delivery. Autodesk Construction Cloud plays the role of the common data environment (CDE). Autodesk has worked with Arcadis to align their systems and processes to the industry standard. The outcome of this engagement resulted in a Power BI dashboard that tracks project deliverables against the master information delivery plan through the key information states of Work in Progress, Shared, and Published. This joint presentation by Autodesk and Arcadis will cover practical approaches to deploying and training end users, applying change management practices, and scaling solutions across global organizations. You'll learn how to align their delivery to ISO 19650 using Autodesk Construction Cloud, implement time-saving dashboards, and scale new technology solutions across a global organization.

Following Purcell's presentation on ‘HBIM for Historic Buildings: Refurbishment of Big Ben for UK Parliament' at AU 2022 this proposal looks at the need for information regarding energy and carbon analysis to be available to designers at early stages of project development especially when retrofitting existing buildings of a historical nature. The standard workflows currently in use with applications such as Revit are based on creating mass elements which are then replaced with objects such as walls, floors etc. to produce models. By utilising tools such as the Insight energy and carbon analysis features developed by Autodesk along with redefining perceived workflows clients/building owners, designers and the wider built environment teams can provide more accurate assessments around historical buildings to ensure these truly amazing structures are retained and appreciated for generations to come.

This session will cover the "bare bones” setup of an Autodesk Docs central file-sharing site with granular permissions for use by a construction team during building information modeling (BIM) coordination. A builder's construction technology manager will demonstrate how Autodesk Collaborate supported by Autodesk add-ins can be used as a shared on-demand syncing tool for teams that still favor Navisworks Manage to run clash detection between a diverse mix of trade partners working both in and out of the cloud. Autodesk technical experts will provide supplementary advice along the way to show how teams can make use of new features in the Autodesk Construction Cloud environment to take this strategy to the next level by removing roadblocks seen in previous versions of the product.

One of the major challenges in architecture—especially with the increased adoption of digital technology in the design process—is interoperability and coordination between design teams that often use software such as Rhino and production teams that use Revit software. In many cases, successfully achieving coordination between these two aspects of the design process requires specialization and complicated workflows. This session will show the benefits of using Autodesk Data Exchange for Rhino to assist in the greater interoperability between Rhino and Revit, leading to better coordination during the project lifecycle. We'll show how Data Exchange for Rhino significantly softens the traditional learning curve for design coordination, giving common users an easy-to-use software. Lastly, we'll highlight some of the other Data Exchange integrations for Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Autodesk Inventor software, and how they impact the design process.
