Fusion 360 software takes many unique and particularly useful approaches to handling and sharing design data. Fusion 360 3D CAD/CAM software has opened up a world of possibilities to engineers, machinists, and makers. It is no longer necessary to spend serious money to get into an integrated CAD/CAM package with equally serious capabilities. But this is a double-edged sword, and it's had the effect of inserting into the manufacturing sector people who have little to no experience in machining, quality control, or customer relations. This course seeks to provide a comprehensive list of tips, tricks, and advice in the areas of computer numerical control (CNC) machining, quality control, customer relations, and personal/business integrity. While a lot of the content is "software agnostic," Fusion 360 will be used to its full extent as often as is possible.

Micromachining is a notoriously demanding process that requires precision beyond levels that most machine shops are comfortable with. However, any shop can take on micromachining jobs with the right cutting tools, machines, accessories, and some knowledge on the differences between traditional machining and the nuances that micromachining brings with it. We'll touch on the Milling, Turning, and Fabrication environments, and go over a large collection of items from basic to advanced levels. If time permits, we may even touch on some design elements.

This class will cover the limits of Autodesk HSM software, especially regarding multitasking machines and 5-axis machining. With the use of Autodesk HSM, we can program these complicated machines really easily if we have some tricks and background. This background consists of machine kinematics, control, and the ways in which our CAM settings change the output of the code. After this class, attendees will be able to program mill-turn and multitasking machines, and they'll know what to look for when buying such a machine. Above all, attendees will learn that the limits of Autodesk HSM are much further away than people think. This is also a chance to meet that guy you may have seen on the Autodesk HSM Forums.
