Cut Section Sheet

Try it: Cross Section Sheet Creation in Civil 3D

  1. In Civil 3D create a new drawing file. Save the file as C:\civil3D projects\Park Bridge Project \Sections Sheet.dwg.
  2. In the Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand Surfaces, and right-click on AIW_Exisitng_Ground and choose Create Reference.
  3. In the Create Surface dialog select in the style row to open the access ellipsis, then select the ellipsis button next to the Surface Style. In the Style Chooser select Border Only. Click OK back to create the surface.
  4. In the Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand Alignments > Centerline Alignments > right-click on Park Bridge Road and choose Create Reference.
  5. In the Create Alignment Reference dialog click OK.
  6. In the Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand Alignments > Centerline Alignments > expand Park Bridge > expand Profiles and right-click on Park Bridge and choose Create Reference.
  7. In the Create Profile Reference dialog change the Profile Style to Design profile. Click OK.
  8. In the Toolspace > Prospector tab > Data Shortcuts area > expand the Corridors area and right-click on Park Bridge Road and choose Create Reference.
  9. In the Create Corridor from Reference dialog click OK.
  10. Zoom Extents.
  11. In the status bar below the drafting area change the scale of the file to 1” = 20’
  12. In the Home ribbon > Profile & Section Views panel select the Sample Lines tool.
  13. Click <ENTER> to open the list of alignments in the file. Select Park Bridge Road.
  14. In the Sample Line Group dialog click OK.
  15. In the Sample Line Tools toolbar expand the Sample Line Creation drop-down and choose By Range of Stations.
  16. Change the Left and Right Swath Widths to 75. Change the Increments Along Tangents and Along Curves both to 100. Click OK.
  17. Hit <ENTER> to end the sample line placement.
  18. In the Home ribbon > Profile & Sample Lines panel select the Section Views drop-down and select Create Multiple Views.
  19. In the Create Multiple Section views dialog click Next to go to the Section Placement tab.
  20. Make sure Production is selected and click the ellipsis button next to the template for cross section sheet option.
  21. Make sure the ARCH D Section 20 Scale is selected. Click OK.
  22. Click Create Section Views.
  23. Select a point to the east and south of the project. This will be the origin point for the array of section views.
  24. Zoom in and review the section views.
  25. In the Output ribbon > Plan Production panel select Create Section Sheets.
  26. In the Create Section Sheets dialog, under the Sheet Set area switch to Add to Existing Sheet Set.
  27. Select the ellipsis button for Add to Existing Sheet Set and browse to C:\Civil 3D Project\Park Bridge Project Sheet Set.dst. Select it and select Open.
  28. Select Create Sheets.
  29. Click OK when prompted that the file will be saved.
