This course is managing point cloud data and recap.
00:04
There are three objectives in the course.
00:07
These objectives are learning about structured non structured
00:10
and photo capture data using structured point cloud data
00:14
and using non structured point cloud data.
00:17
Each will take about 10 minutes or less to complete
00:20
and there is an exercise for each objective.
00:23
So you can practice what you've just
00:25
learned the information in this course
00:27
is important for the scan to be in process
00:30
or scan data is captured by a variety of methods.
00:34
And then the data is processed to index register crop
00:38
and export so that it can be used
00:40
in design authoring applications such as civil 3D
00:44
and InfraWorks.
00:46
The scan data type will have different features
00:49
and recap structured data from fixed position scanners
00:53
will have 3D orbs displayed that enable
00:56
us to jump into the real view, which
00:59
is the photo realistic display from the scanners
01:02
point of view.
01:04
These scans are used for detailing
01:06
complex items such as the piping and valves shown here.
01:11
Non structured data is the most common point cloud data used
01:15
for infrastructure projects.
01:17
There are many basic tools in recap
01:19
here we can see how point cloud data can be styled by elevation
01:24
and now I'm using view states to look
01:26
at different areas of my point cloud
01:31
the measurement tools are important to use
01:34
to validate the units and scale of the data.
01:39
Here we check a vertical measurement
01:41
to see that the hype of the pedestrian bridge in meters
01:45
is accurate.
01:48
Because point cloud data is so large
01:50
containing millions and millions of points.
01:53
We need to use the selection tools to create regions.
01:58
This breaks down the project into areas of interest
02:01
or creates multiple smaller data sets for more efficient use
02:06
in Civil 3D.
02:08
We can also use regions to eliminate unnecessary data
02:18
recap exports point cloud data from the region collection
02:23
and creates r RCS RCP file types.
02:28
These are the file types imported
02:31
in Civil 3D and InfraWorks as well as
02:34
other Autodesk applications such as rivet and even autocad.
02:39
Now you can get started with the three course objectives
02:42
and try out point cloud data in the exercises.
02:46
So have fun getting started with.
