In this video, we're going to discuss page access.
00:14
First, let's talk about the difference between global pages and project pages.
00:19
Pages in Flow Production Tracking can be global or project based.
00:24
Global pages are not restricted to a single project.
00:27
They can display information about one or many projects
00:30
that exist on a single Flow Production Tracking site.
00:34
Unlike global pages,
00:36
project pages are restricted to display information about a single
00:39
project only and are accessible from the project pages menu.
00:43
Global pages can be saved to projects and project pages can be saved globally. In
00:48
this way,
00:49
you can have a global version and project version
00:51
of any page on a Flow Production Tracking site.
00:55
In terms of access,
00:56
If a page is saved to a project that you don't have permission to see,
00:60
then you won't be able to access any pages saved within that project. To
01:04
tell if you're looking at a global or project page,
01:07
check to see if there is a project navigation menu.
01:10
If not, then the page you're on is a global page.
01:13
If yes,
01:14
then the page you're on belongs to the project
01:16
on the left side of the project navigation menu.
01:19
Next, let's talk about private pages versus shared pages.
01:24
Pages can be private or shared restrictions can be
01:28
applied to pages based on your permission group.
01:31
By default,
01:32
new global pages start as private while new project
01:35
pages start as shared with members of that project.
01:39
When you create a new private page,
01:41
that page will appear in the my pages section of the global all pages menu.
01:51
If your new page is project based,
01:53
that page will appear in the my pages section of the project pages menu.
02:03
Share settings can be identified by the text to the right of the page title.
02:08
Private pages will be clearly marked as private to the right of the page
02:12
name, shared pages will be visible in the all pages menu.
