Configuring scenarios

Step-by-step:

Scenario management allows a hydraulic modeler to analyze and compare multiple alternatives with different demand, pump controls, tank sizes, system outages, and other design possibilities.

In this tutorial, you use the Scenario Explorer to set up an existing conditions and maximum day demand scenario.

  1. Open the appropriate .aprx file in ArcGIS Pro.
  2. From the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Project panel, click Initialize.
  3. In the Model Explorer, click the Scenario Explorer icon. The Model Explorer, with the Scenario Explorer icon highlighted for selection
  1. In the Scenario Explorer, click New Scenario.

Note: this new scenario is a duplicate of the currently selected scenario, which, in this case, is the BASE, Base Network Scenario.

  1. In the New Data Scenario popup, type a New ID of “EXISTING”.
  2. Click OK.

This scenario represents the existing system under normal demand conditions. Typically, a scenario is set up initially to reflect existing conditions, and another is created to reflect the alternatives.

  1. Select the EXISTING scenario.
  2. In the toolbar, click Copy.

Note: In the Network Data Scenario(s) list, a red asterisk appears on the file being copied.
