In this video, we'll discuss how to use the dashboards for your project management needs, including the Main Project dashboard,
00:16
Default Project dashboard, Design, and Project Management dashboards.
00:20
So let's take a look.
00:26
The first dashboard you will see when you log into Upchain is the Main Project dashboard.
00:31
This dashboard provides you with an overview of all the projects you have access to in Upchain.
00:36
The main section of the dashboard shows you all the projects you have favorited.
00:41
You will also see for each project the status of Documents, Assignments or Tasks, and Items.
00:49
A single click on the Project opens a detail panel on the right hand side.
00:54
This provides similar information for the project with a breakdown of each category into Draft, Pending,
01:02
and Completed status for each task, document, or item, plus a list of team members.
01:10
The "View All" link allows you to dive further into the information presented in each section.
01:17
For example, I can click on the "View All" link under Assignments and navigate over to the Project Plan.
01:30
Along with the Project Overview, we also have the Activity Stream in the bottom left corner.
01:37
This shows you all the activity for the projects you have access to.
01:41
Each post will have a link where you can view the item, such as a change request and the team member who created the item.
01:48
You can click on each link to get more information on the activity or the team member.
01:55
Next to it, we have the "My Favorite" items section.
01:60
This section lists all of the items in project BOMs that you have added to your favorite list.
02:06
This allows you to quickly access items that you are working on or work with frequently.
02:12
The information provided here includes the item name, number, and status.
02:18
You can click on an item name, and you will get a pop up listing the projects that item is a part of.
02:27
From there, you can click on the project you wish to view the item in.
02:33
Next to it, we have the My Assignments section.
02:36
This lists all of the tasks that you currently have assigned to you for the projects you are working on.
02:44
The list is displayed oldest to newest, so any new assignments will be displayed on the bottom of the list.
02:50
As with the other sections of the dashboard,
02:53
you can click on the Assignment link or the Project link to navigate to the assignment or the project dashboard.
03:01
So along with the Main Project dashboard,
03:05
each project will have its own set of dashboards to help you view the project and get a better picture of its progress.
03:15
The main page in the project dashboard is called Default.
03:21
Essentially, your main view for the progress of your project.
03:25
This view provides an overview of the project with the three charts in the main section.
03:33
These charts display the progress of the assigned tasks in the project plan.
03:38
The tasks are displayed in Completed, Overdue, and Critical.
03:43
You will also be able to see the status of the tasks, such as Draft, Pending, or Completed.
03:52
The panel to the right displays information related to the project, including name, start date, team members, and status.
04:02
The chart below displays the tasks for the project.
04:05
Again, broken into different categories of Completed, Pending, Draft, and In Progress.
04:13
The way the information is displayed can be changed by right clicking on the report area and selecting another chart type.
04:20
For example, I can change the view of my project progress from the default line chart to a bar chart.
04:27
The last section in this dashboard view is the Activity Stream.
04:31
Similar to the one we saw on the Main Project dashboard,
04:34
this Activity Stream shows you all the activity for the project including Investigation Requests, Change Requests,
04:41
and Addition of Team Members.
04:44
Another view available to you is the Design dashboard.
04:47
This dashboard view is most beneficial to the CAD users on your project.
04:52
The information displayed in this dashboard is focused around the items in your project BOM.
04:57
The panel on the far left displays a list of the most recently created items for the project.
05:03
This allows you to keep track of what is being created in the BOM for your product.
05:08
Currently, we don't have any created items. We have to add those in.
05:13
Next to it, you can see a list of My Locked Objects.
05:19
This is useful if you are working on multiple items and need to check and see what you have checked out.
05:27
Also, should you be stepping away from a project for a period of time, say for vacation,
05:34
you can check this list and ensure you don't have any outstanding items checked out that will hold up the work for your team members.
05:41
On the far right, we can again see the My Assignments and Activity Stream information that we saw on the Main Project dashboard.
05:49
Again, these panels provide a list of currently assigned tasks and activities that are being completed by the project team.
05:57
The third and final dashboard view that you have available to you is the Project Management view.
06:03
This view is useful for anyone on the project team who needs to track the status of items and the cost associated with the project.
06:11
The main panel in this view lists all of the items in the BOM and shows the status for each item and the associated costs.
06:19
The quantity for each item is also listed.
06:23
It should be noted the BOM items that are listed in this dashboard view are from the latest working filter in the BOM structure.
06:31
Again, we can see the My Assignments panel is displayed as part of this dashboard.
06:37
So we have seen the information in the Main Project dashboard when we log into Upchain,
06:43
and the specific views available under the project specific dashboards.
06:47
I would encourage you to further explore the information displayed and see which view will work best with your role.
