Configure and visualize a pipe network by using the Connector for ArcGIS data in your InfraWorks model.
Type:
Tutorial
Length:
2 min.
Transcript
00:03
You can leverage the Connector for ArcGIS to add, manage, and visualize ArcGIS sewer system data in your InfraWorks model.
00:12
Because this example focuses on sewer line placement,
00:16
begin with InfraWorks open to the desired project and the data source already connected and showing the sewer pipe layers.
00:24
Once you have successfully added ArcGIS data to your model,
00:29
you can configure the pipe inverts, sizing, and view options to ensure the sewer is represented correctly in the 3D model.
00:37
First, expand the Views Menu and click Engineering View.
00:42
Now you can see under the surface of your model, which allows you to visualize the sewer lines as they populate.
00:48
To access the data source configuration, click Manage > Content > Data Sources, press ALT+F1,
00:58
or, in the Data Sources panel, double-click Pipe.
01:02
This opens all the source information for the sewer lines in the Data Sources panel.
01:07
Here in the Data Source Configuration dialog,
01:10
you can map the correct attributes from the data in ArcGIS online to your Elevation From and Elevation To inputs.
01:19
Select Elevation (Pipe Invert), set the Elevation From input to StartInvert,
01:26
and the Elevation To input to EndInvert.
01:29
Also, to verify the pipe sizes, map the corresponding attributes to the X and Y sizes to reflect the correct sizing.
01:38
For this example, set both the X and Y sizes to InsideDiameter.
01:43
The last thing you need to configure is the style of the pipe.
01:47
For example, to give them better visibility, from the Rule style drop-down, color them yellow.
01:54
Then, click OK.
01:55
Finally, select Close & Refresh.
01:58
In the model, the pipes populate with the invert elevations and sizing you just set in the Data Source Configuration dialog.
