Step-by-step:
A System Head Curve Analysis shows the relationship between system head and flow capacity for a pump at different time ranges. This relationship represents the variation in total dynamic head against the pumps required to operate under various flow conditions throughout the network.
- Open the appropriate .aprx file in ArcGIS Pro.
- From the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Project panel, click Initialize.
- On the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Analysis panel, click Run.
- In the Run Manager, click the System Curve tab.
Choose the pump that you want to evaluate by either entering the Target Pump ID or by clicking Browse to graphically select the target.
- In the Target Pump ID field, enter P-140.
- Set the Curve Type to Exponential, as this system curve will be generated by a single simulation.
Under Report Data Points, enter the number of data points or the number of flow increments at which the system curve will be generated and data will be reported.
- Enable only one of the System Curve @ 00:00 hr options.
- Do not select any times.
Note: If you enable all three System Curve time periods to evaluate a wide range of operating conditions, you could set the three available times to represent times of low, average, and peak demand.
- Click Run to run the simulation.
The Report Manager appears with the System Curve for Pump P-140:
System head curves are useful for designing pumps. You can use system head curves along with pump efficiency curves to assist with efficient pump design.
- Click Hide to close the Report Manager.
