Set up the modeling environment by configuring the settings for precast walls, slabs and built-in parts.

In Revit, the precast tools provide an easy way to create 3D structural models

To prepare for creating precast assemblies, the first step is to configure the settings for precast walls, slabs, and built-in parts.

From the File ribbon, click Open > Project.

Navigate to the desired RVT file and then open it.

To open the Configuration dialog, from the Precast ribbon, Configuration panel, click Configuration.

Note that a warning dialog may appear if precast-dependent families are not loaded in the project.

Click OK.

The precast-dependent families then load automatically.

Here, you can customize all preset configuration options for wall, slab, built-in parts, and CAM export.

For example, for walls, you can configure part information, segmentation rules, reinforcement definitions, and project drawing defaults.
