A key schedule in rev, it
00:05
allows us to create groups of parameter values and assign them to objects.
00:10
For example, we may have many of the same types of rooms in a project
00:15
such as bedrooms or bathrooms in a hotel.
00:18
And these rooms would have the same finishes for the floors, walls and ceilings.
00:22
So rather than sign the finishes to individual rooms,
00:26
we can create a key schedule to group together the finishes
00:29
under a key name such as bedroom finishes or bathroom finishes
00:34
and then apply that key to the relevant room.
00:39
Looking at the level one plan here,
00:41
we can see that we have a number of doors that may require similar hardware
00:45
such as the two external doors here
00:48
and also the internal doors leading to the bedroom and study.
00:53
And looking at the level two plan,
00:55
we can see that we have more bedroom doors and bathroom doors as well.
01:01
So to create the key schedule, we'll go to the view ribbon tab
01:04
and from the create panel, we'll click these schedules drop down
01:08
and then pick schedules and quantities.
01:11
Now, we need to choose the door category. So
01:14
I'll start to type the word door.
01:16
And now we can see the list of categories filtered. So we'll select doors
01:21
and that rather than schedule building components, we'll select schedule keys
01:27
and we'll change the name of the schedule to be door, hardware,
01:33
and we'll set the key name to be hardware group.
01:39
And now we have those named and we click ok to open the schedule properties.
01:45
So looking at the scheduled properties here,
01:47
you can see we have the key name already added to the scheduled fields.
01:51
And in the available fields,
01:53
there are some custom project parameters that we can use.
01:56
So a slightly handle type parameter,
01:59
we'll click the add parameter button and
02:01
then we'll select number of hinges and add that too.
02:04
And now we need to create some more parameters here. So
02:07
in the middle, we'll click the new parameter button.
02:11
And now looking at this,
02:12
we can see that we have it set to project parameter
02:15
and we could use a shared parameter if that was relevant,
02:17
but we'll leave it set as project parameter
02:21
and we'll set the name to be lock type.
02:25
Then we'll change the type of parameter to be a text parameter.
02:30
And then we'll set the group parameter under to be the other group.
02:35
Now we'll click. OK.
02:37
And we can see that that new parameter has
02:38
been created and added to the list of fields.
02:42
We want to move it up above the number of hinges.
02:44
So I'll click the arrow at the bottom here to move up.
02:48
And now it will click to create another new parameter.
02:52
And this one will set the name to be requires closer.
02:59
And the type of parameter will be a yes, no parameter.
03:03
And this is already grouped under the other group. So we'll click. OK.
03:06
And we can see that that's also been added to the list of scheduled fields.
03:11
So now we have those added, we'll click, ok?
03:13
And we can see now that that door hardware key schedule has been created.
03:18
We can see the column headings here from the parameters that we chose.
03:22
However, there's no data in the schedule and we have to actually create the keys
03:26
and fill out the data.
03:29
So to create the first key, we'll go to the modified schedules and quantities,
03:32
ribbon and
03:33
on the rows panel here, we'll click, insert data row.
03:38
So we can see if that has added the first key. We'll change the key name to be group one.
03:46
And now we can start to fill out the data.
03:48
So it will set the handle type to be three lever
03:53
and then the lock type will be secure, deadlock,
03:58
the number of hinges will be three
04:00
and we'll select to indicate that it does require a closer.
04:04
So now we'll add a second group.
04:06
So we go back to the ribbon here and click insert data row
04:10
and will change its name to be group two.
04:13
This will have a handle type of two lever
04:18
and the lock type will be key operated
04:21
and the number of hinges too.
04:24
And this one doesn't require a closer. We'll die
04:26
like that.
04:29
Finally, we'll click, insert data row again and add a third one.
04:33
We change his name to be group three.
04:37
Then this would also be a two lever handle type.
04:42
The lock will be latch only
04:46
and the number of hinges will be two
04:48
and this one does require a closer.
04:50
So we'll click to select that.
04:53
So we've created those keys here and we could
04:55
continue to add more keys if required or we can
04:58
always come back and add new keys at a
04:60
later date if the requirements for the doors change.
05:04
So now I'll swap back to the level one plan view
05:08
and I'll select the external door at the bottom of the view here.
05:12
Now, looking at the property's palette
05:14
in the identity data panel here, we can see we have the hardware group parameter.
05:19
It's currently set to none.
05:20
And looking further down on the other panel,
05:23
we can see that we have those parameters there for the door hardware.
05:26
So the number of hinges handle type, lock type
05:30
and these are currently editable.
05:31
So we could click into the number of hinges here and assign in a number.
05:36
But if I go back up to the hardware group parameter
05:40
and they choose one of the group, so we'll pick group one,
05:44
we can see now in the other panel that all
05:46
of those parameters have inherited the data from the key schedule
05:50
and we also cannot edit them.
05:52
So I'll pick the other external door here and we'll assign this to be a group one also.
05:56
And we can see those parameters have been added.
06:00
And now I'll select the internal doors here to the bedroom bathrooms and study,
06:06
and then we'll assign those to be group two
06:11
And then for the final two doors,
06:13
the one to the cupboard under the stairs and also to the lobby,
06:16
we'll assign those to be a group three.
06:22
So now I'll go back to the door hardware schedule view here
06:27
and we can make a change to some of these groups.
06:30
So
06:30
I'll change the number of hinges here for group one to be four
06:35
and for group two will change it to B three.
06:39
Now I'll swap back to the level one plan view.
06:41
If I pick one of the external doors
06:45
looking at the number of hinges here, we can see that's been updated to the new value
06:49
and also one of the internal doors and that's also been updated
06:54
and that makes it easier for us to edit that door, hardware, key schedule
06:58
rather than have to go around all of the doors in the project
07:01
and make the changes individually.
07:05
Now, looking at the project browser, we also have a door schedule so I'll open that
07:10
we can see that, that has a number of columns in
07:12
and we'd like to add the door hardware group.
07:16
So to do this,
07:17
we'll go to the modified schedules and quantities
07:19
ribbon here and from the columns panel,
07:21
we'll click the insert button.
07:25
We see that we have quite a lot of available fields here for the door,
07:30
but we can see the hardware group one
07:33
and we want to add this to the end of the schedule.
07:35
So I'll pick the last entry here and then click add parameter.
07:39
And that will go into the bottom of the fields here, which when we say, OK,
07:43
we'll put it at the end of the schedule.
07:45
We can see now that we've got all of those hardware group values added
07:49
over the doors on level two have not been updated.
07:52
So we'll change all of these here in the schedule to be group two.
07:58
And now that we have that completed,
07:60
we could issue the schedule like this and then also
08:02
issue the door hardware schedule separately as a reference.
08:07
However,
08:07
we could also add the parameters for the door hardware to this schedule too.
08:14
So to do this, we'll go to the modified schedules and quantities ribbon
08:18
and from the columns tab here, we'll click the insert button.
08:23
And now to filter out the list of available fields here,
08:26
we'll expand their filter panel
08:29
and then we'll uncheck type parameters here. So we can just see instance parameters
08:34
and now looking at the list of available fields.
08:36
We can see that we have the handle type here. So we'll add this one,
08:40
then the lock type
08:42
and then the number of hinges
08:44
and also the requires closer.
08:47
Now we'll click. Ok.
08:49
And we can see that all of those columns have been added to the schedule
08:52
with all of the data filled out.
08:57
Actually looking at the door at the bottom here,
08:59
I've changed this to be a group three rather than a group two.
09:03
We can see that data update in the columns here.
09:07
Also,
09:07
I'll swap back to the door hardware schedule and we'll change
09:10
the number of hinges for group one to B three.
09:14
Again, if I swap back to the door schedule, we can see that that's updated there
09:18
and it would have also updated on the doors by bidirectional associativity.
09:24
So having got the hardware types assigned to the doors
09:27
that completes creating the key schedule.

00:04
