We're looking at the floor two furniture plan
00:06
which has the walls colored in blue
00:08
and the furniture colored in gray.
00:11
I'll go to the properties palette
00:12
and click the edit button next to
00:14
the visibility graphic override to open the settings
00:18
and now scrolling down the list of model categories here,
00:21
we can see the walls category has had the cut pattern overridden in a solid blue film.
00:27
And if I scroll back up to the furniture category,
00:30
although it's not immediately obvious if I select it,
00:33
we can see that the projection surface pattern here
00:36
has been overridden to a solid gray field.
00:38
And that's why the walls and the furniture are displayed in those colors in the view,
00:43
I'll click cancel to close the visibility graphic overrides.
00:48
And in this view,
00:49
we'd like the desks and tables to be highlighted in
00:52
a different color to the rest of the furniture.
00:56
So if I select one of the tables here, we can see this is the family table rectangular.
01:01
And if I pick on the desk here,
01:03
this will be the desk family.
01:07
So in order to control the display of these
01:09
separate to the rest of the furniture category.
01:11
We'll need to create a filter
01:14
and to do this, we'll go to the view ribbon tab and from the graphics panel,
01:18
you can click the filters button.
01:22
Now in the filters here, we can see that we have some already created.
01:26
We'll go to the bottom of the box here and click to create a new filter.
01:31
So we'll name this one desks and tables and then click OK to create that filter.
01:37
So first we need to go to the categories
01:40
and scrolling down.
01:41
We need to choose the furniture category as this
01:44
is the category you want to filter on.
01:47
And now for the filter rules, this acts a little bit like a search.
01:51
So we're going to search for the family name
01:55
and that family name must contain
01:58
the word table.
02:03
Now, we also want to search for the desk as well. So I'll click add rule
02:08
and then we have a second search term here. So
02:11
we'll set this to be family name also
02:15
and contains
02:18
and then desk.
02:20
Now the default for these is that when we have multiple rules here
02:23
they are. And,
02:24
and that means that the name would have to contain both table and desk.
02:29
So we change the setting here to B or
02:31
which means now that it can contain either table or desk.
02:36
So now we'll click OK to save that filter
02:40
and to apply it to the view,
02:41
we go to the properties palette here and
02:43
we'll click the edit button next to visibility,
02:45
graphic overrides.
02:46
So now we'll go to the filters tab
02:49
and we can see we have none applied. So we'll click the add button here
02:53
from the list of filters.
02:55
We'll pick the desks and tables filter and then click OK to add that to our view.
03:00
So now we have that added,
03:02
we can see we have all of the controls there for the filter.
03:05
So for example, if I uncheck visibility
03:07
and then click apply,
03:09
we can see the desks and tables are no longer visible in the view behind us.
03:15
I'll reelect the visibility toggle and click apply once
03:18
more so we can see them in the view
03:22
and then we'll click the override button for the surface patterns here
03:25
and we'll change this to be a solid fill
03:28
and then we'll set the color to be orange.
03:31
So we click, OK to assign the color
03:33
and then OK to assign the override.
03:37
And now if I click, OK, to close down the visibility graphic overrides,
03:41
we can see the desks and tables in that view and now colored in orange.
03:45
Whilst the rest of the furniture is colored in gray,
03:49
we also need to create a view that will
03:51
highlight the fire rating of the different walls.
03:54
So to do this,
03:55
we'll first go to the project browser and open up the floor two dimensions plan.
04:01
And in this view,
04:02
we can see that the furniture and equipment is hidden and
04:04
that there are no overrides to the colors of the objects.
04:08
So we'll go back to the project browser and we'll right click over this view
04:12
and then choose duplicate view,
04:14
duplicate
04:16
to create a copy of this view.
04:19
So now we right and click over the view and
04:21
we'll rename this to be floor two fire compartment.
04:30
And now
04:31
if I select one of the walls in the view here,
04:33
and then we'll go to the properties palette and we
04:36
can see that this is the interior 5.5 inch petition.
04:39
One hour,
04:40
I'll click edit type to access its type
04:42
properties and scrolling down to the identity data.
04:45
We can see the fire rating parameter here and it's set to be one hour.
04:50
I'll click. OK to close this.
04:52
And now
04:53
we'll select the wall on the top of the corridor here
04:56
and we can see that this is the interior five inch petition. Two hour.
05:01
I will click edit type again
05:03
and then we can see its fire rating parameter is set to be two hours.
05:07
I'll click, cancel to close this.
05:11
And now we'll go to the view ribbon tab and from the graphics panel here,
05:15
we'll click the filters button
05:17
and we can see we already have filters here for
05:19
one hour and two hour fire rating of walls.
05:22
So if I select the one hour fire right in here,
05:25
first,
05:25
I'll choose to hide unchecked categories and we can
05:28
see that this is now just applying to walls
05:32
and now looking at the filter rules,
05:34
we can see that it's looking for the fire it and parameter and it must equal one hour.
05:39
I'll select the two hour and we can see that this is the same,
05:41
although it's looking for a value of two hours.
05:44
So I click OK to close down the filters.
05:47
And now we'll go to the properties palette and
05:48
we'll click edit to open the visibility graphic overrides.
05:52
Now, in the filters tab here, we'll click the add button
05:55
and we'll select both the wall one hour and
05:57
two hour fire writing filters and then click OK
06:00
to add those to our view.
06:03
So now we have those in the view.
06:05
I'll click the override button for the cut button of the one hour fire rating.
06:11
And we'll set this to be a solid fill
06:13
and then we'll click the color swatch and set it to be green.
06:16
And then we'll click OK to save the color and then OK, to save the override.
06:20
And then we'll click to override the cut lines as well.
06:23
And we'll just change the color of these to be green
06:26
and then we can click OK. And then OK, once more to save that line's override,
06:32
now we'll click the cut patterns for the two hour filter
06:35
and we'll set this to be a solid fill.
06:37
And again, we'll click on the color swatch here and we'll change this to be red
06:41
and then click. Ok. And then, ok, wants more to save that
06:44
and then we'll click on the cut lines override
06:47
and we'll change these to be red in color as well.
06:52
Now we'll click, ok, to close the visibility graphic overrides.
06:57
And we can see in the view now that the walls are colored in either red or green
07:02
depending on their fire rating.
07:05
So now that we have the fire compartment and furniture view
07:07
set up that completes adding the filters to our views.
