In this file, we are looking at the floor two furniture plan
00:07
and we can see in the project browser
00:09
that we also have furniture plans for floors three and four,
00:14
we need to place these views onto sheets and achieve a consistent presentation
00:18
to have the views in the same location on the drawing sheets.
00:22
So that any differences in the layout are
00:24
easily seen when swapping between the drawings.
00:28
So first let's create a new sheet to place the first view onto
00:32
and to do this, we'll go to the view ribbon tab
00:35
and from the sheet composition panel, we'll click to create a new sheet.
00:40
So now we'll choose the
00:42
E 1 30 by 42 horizontal title block
00:46
and then click OK to create that new drawing sheet.
00:50
So we can see it's been created here. And
00:52
if I expand out the sheets group in the project browser, we can see it there
00:56
and it's currently unnamed. So let's right, click over this and we'll choose rename
01:02
and will change its name to be level two furniture
01:08
and then we'll click OK to save that new name.
01:11
Now we want to place the view onto the sheet.
01:14
So to do this,
01:15
we'll go back to the view ribbon tab and from the sheet composition panel here,
01:19
we'll click view to place you on a sheet.
01:22
And now from the list of views, we'll choose the floor two furniture plan here
01:28
and then click add view to sheet.
01:31
And now it's attached to our cursor so we can just move to place it
01:34
near the center of the sheet here.
01:37
So now that we have that view placed on the sheet,
01:40
we'll create a guide grid and align it to this view
01:43
and we can then use that guide grid for the other sheets.
01:47
So we'll go to the view ribbon tab from the
01:50
sheet composition panel or click the guide grid button.
01:54
And now we need to create a new guide grid. So we'll name this furniture plan grid
02:00
and then we'll click. OK.
02:02
And straight away, we can see that guide grid is now placed on the drawing sheet.
02:09
So I'll pick on the edge of the guide grid to select it.
02:12
Now looking at the properties palette,
02:15
we have a parameter for guide space in
02:18
and we change this to be four inches.
02:22
Once that's applied,
02:23
we can see that that grid is now much bigger and will be easier to work with.
02:28
So now we'll just use the drag controls here to
02:31
resize it closer to the size of the view.
02:38
And now we can move the guide grid to align to the actual view itself.
02:43
So zoom in a little bit closer,
02:45
we can see we have the intersection of grid line one and C
02:48
and we'll move the intersection of the guide grid to that location.
02:53
So with the guide grid selected,
02:55
we'll get to the modify ribbon tab and we'll click on the move tool
02:60
and looking at the options bar.
03:01
We'll uncheck the constraint option here so that we can move it diagonally.
03:07
And now I'll choose the intersection of the guide grid here as the start point.
03:12
And now we can snap to the intersection of the grid one and see in the model.
03:17
And we now have that guide grid aligned to the grid within the view.
03:24
So now we need to create the next sheet to place the floor three furniture plan on
03:29
and to do this, we'll duplicate this drawing sheet. So
03:33
in the project browser,
03:34
we'll right click over this sheet
03:36
and we'll choose duplicate sheet
03:39
and then duplicate with sheet detailing.
03:43
And now we'll get a duplicate of this sheet with the guide grid already applied.
03:47
But without the view.
03:49
So looking in the project browser, we need to rename it.
03:52
So we'll right click and choose rename
03:55
and will change its name to read level three furniture
03:60
and then click OK to save that new name.
04:04
And now we need to place the view onto this sheet. So
04:06
we'll go back to the view ribbon tab
04:09
and from the sheet composition panel here,
04:11
we'll click the place view on sheet button
04:15
and from the list of views, we'll select the floor three furniture plan
04:19
and then click, add view to sheet.
04:23
Now, we can't snap it straight to the guide grid.
04:25
So we'll just place it into the view in approximately the right location.
04:31
And now we just need to move it into the correct location. So
04:35
we'll go to the modified ribbon tab here and click the move tool.
04:39
Now, if I zoom in a little bit closer,
04:41
I can choose the intersection of grid lines one and C in the view as the start point.
04:46
And then we can snap it to the grid intersection here
04:49
to get that into the correct location.
04:55
So now we'll repeat this process.
04:57
So in the project browser,
04:58
we'll right click over the view and choose duplicate sheet
05:02
and then duplicate with sheet detailing.
05:05
And then we'll right click and rename this new sheet
05:09
and we name it to be level four furniture
05:12
and then click OK
05:14
to save that name.
05:17
And this time we'll go to the project browser
05:19
and we'll select the floor for furniture view here
05:23
and then we can drag it out into the view
05:26
and then click to place it in approximately the right location.
05:32
And then again, whilst the view is still selected,
05:34
you can click on the move tool from the modify ribbon
05:38
and snap to the grid intersection of the grid line one and C for the start point
05:42
and then we move it to the intersection of the guide grid
05:45
and we now have that view in the correct location as well.
05:49
So now we have the views placed. We no longer need to see the guide grid.
05:53
So we can go to the properties pallette.
05:56
And at the bottom here, we can see we have the parameter for guide grid
06:00
and we'll click on the drop down list and we'll change it to be none.
06:04
And using this parameter,
06:06
we can always bring the grid back if we need to just by
06:08
clicking on the drop down list there and choosing the furniture plan grid
06:12
and that grid will come back onto the sheet in the same location.
06:16
So I'll set it back to Nan.
06:18
And now I'll swap to the level three furniture plan view
06:21
and set that guide grid parameter to Nan.
06:25
And then also for the level two furniture plan.
06:29
And now we have those three plans set up.
06:32
And as we swap between them,
06:34
we can see that the model is in the exact same location
06:37
and that makes it easier to spot the
06:39
changes between the office layouts and the furniture
06:42
and complete aligning the views on the sheets.
