Project | Manufacture a 3D label using CAM

Use your skills in CAM to manufacture a label or name plate in Fusion that can be attached to a toolbox, storage bin, or other area to serve as a label.

‌

Module overview

Use your Fusion CAM skills to work on a real-world project. A 3D label offers excellent beginning manufacturing opportunities in small stock sizes.

In this project, you’ll prepare a stock setup, define tools, create and modify 2D machining operations, and generate toolpaths needed for the manufacturing process. Finally, you’ll choose an appropriate post processor for your project and generate numeric code.

After completing this project, you’ll be able to:

  • Create multiple setups in sequence for manufacturing.
  • Create new tools and modify tool settings options.
  • Choose and apply machining strategies to square stock.
  • Choose and apply 2D machining strategies.
  • Create tool paths and post numeric code to produce the part on a 3-axis/2.5-axis CNC machine.
