Set up a model for manufacturing

To begin the manufacturing process, you’ll increase your knowledge of machine setup to create stock and to properly orient many parts in the work coordinate system. You will use your knowledge of available tooling to accurately define new tools in the tool library.

After completing this section, you’ll be able to:

• Select and orient all parts into a desirable configuration for manufacture on a CNC router, waterjet, or laser.
• Create a single setup for manufacturing.
• Create new tools and modify tool settings options.
• Describe considerations for using tools that are not mounted in holders.
