Add extensions in Forma
Add extensions from third parties into Forma.
Step-by-step guide
Autodesk Forma makes it possible to use custom extensions to complement its native capabilities.
- With a project open, from the left panel, select Extensions.
- Select Add extension.
- In the Extensions dialog box, review tools developed by third parties and the community.
To install an extension, you will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions provided by the creator of the extension.
Before an extension is published to the marketplace, extension providers can make their extension available to other Forma users by sharing the extension ID. These display in the Unpublished tab.
An extension is installed on a project basis, which means it must be installed in every project where it will be used.
Certain extensions might require additional steps for setup and use. Please consult the developer's documentation, or send a question directly to them.
Once an extension is installed, it appears in the Extensions tab of the left panel, and you can interact further with it in the design or analysis toolbars, depending on the extension type.
