Setting preferences and default values

Access InfoWater Pro preferences and describe the available options.


Step-by-step:

InfoWater Pro preferences are used to control system default settings and project preferences. The settings in the Preferences dialog box are grouped into categories as tabs. For example, in the Default Symbol tab, you can adjust the default shape, size, and color of symbols used to represent InfoWater Pro elements, such as junctions, tanks, and pipes in the map display.

  1. With model data already imported and linked from InfoWater Pro to ArcGIS Pro, from the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Project panel, select Preferences.

  1. From the Preferences dialog box, open the Default Symbol.

  1. Click any Symbol Selector to open the symbol for that object.
  2. Customize any of the symbol attributes, making any changes you want.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Back in the Preferences dialog box, open the Operation Settings tab.

  1. When Auto Length Calculation is selected, the length of new pipe segments is automatically calculated based on the current spatial projection and added to the InfoWater Pro database. When this is deselected, pipe lengths will not be automatically updated.
  2. Delete Confirmation controls whether you are prompted to verify delete operations. When this option is not selected, components will be immediately deleted without verification.
  3. When Auto Database Packing is enabled, database records are permanently deleted when the corresponding components are deleted from the network map or the operation tab. When it is disabled, then the records are only "marked for deletion".
  4. When Auto Pipe Node Inclusion is enabled, all nodes directly connected to activated pipes are also activated. When it is disabled, nodes directly connected to activated pipes are not automatically activated.
  5. When Auto Pipe Delete is enabled, the pipes connected to a node selected for deletion are deleted as well.
  6. Once finished making changes to the Operations Settings, click OK.
