    Description

In this 60-minute instructional demo, we will examine how to use Inventor software and Configurator 360 software to create parametric assembly models where the components cannot be predicted in advance, hence the inability of iLogic plus suppression to solve the problem. We will show how to start with a base model for context, how to annotate accessory components so they can be added dynamically but only in legal configurations, how to use Configurator 360 software as a delivery mechanism, and finally (yes, a bit unrelated) how Configurator 360 software can export the full assembly to Revit software. Common areas of application include furniture systems, customized enclosures, industrial components with customized accessories, and many others.

    Key Learnings

    • Learn how to choose between a drag-and-drop mechanism versus parametric assemblies via iLogic
    • Learn how to upload Inventor models for use in an online drag-and-drop configuration system
    • Learn how to define logical and geometric connectors between the components
    • Discover how to set up Inventor software assembly models for export to Revit RFA, including simplification and connectors
