- Johnny FortuneJohnny Fortune is an experienced technology leader and subject matter expert in BIM and IT for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner/Operator (AECO) industry. Mr. Fortune has a long history in both design and construction with over 20 years of experience in CAD and BIM management. Throughout his career, he has successfully helped many professionals adopt various levels of design and construction technology; from hand drafting to CAD, to 3D CAD, to BIM and VDC. His vast experience includes developing BIM strategies, standards, training, workflows, and integration with external stakeholders. His educational background includes computer science, engineering technologies, construction management, instructional design and technology, and performance improvement. He has worked on several national committees, including the National BIM Council, the National BIM Program, the National BIM Standard, the National CAD Standards, and the USACE Industry BIM/CIM Consortium. He is a contributing author for several national standards documents including the USACE and VA BIM requirements and has presented at various technology conferences such as Autodesk University, AEC Next, BIMForum, GeoWeek, CURT, & COAA. Fortune also teaches BIM at a regional, comprehensive university for a construction management program. He possesses a lifelong commitment to leadership development; helping others grow professionally and personally; and impacting the industry on a corporate, national, and global scale. He enjoys utilizing technology for improving business and industry processes and focuses on building meaningful and lasting relationships. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the U.S. National BIM Program for the National Institute of Building Sciences, where he leads the activities of NIBS' National BIM Program and Council.
- ELEd LoweW. Edward Lowe is a CAD Coordinator with Burgess & Niple, Inc., a multidiscipline engineering and architectural firm in Painesville, Ohio. Ed has over 30 years experience in the production of construction drawings including extensive use and support of AutoCAD for the past 25 years. As CAD coordinator, Ed oversees CAD production for a wide variety of projects. His responsibilities also include class instruction, standards development, enterprise-wide installation and CAD-related IT support. Ed serves as the Chairman of the Project Committee for the National CAD Standard. Ed is also a member of the National BIM Standard Project Committee.
- SRSasha ReedJohnny Fortune serves as the Building Information Modeling (BIM) director at Bullock Tice Associates (BTA) in Pensacola, Florida. He is an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit Architecture 2009 to 2016 software and in AutoCAD 2014 software. Fortune has led the complete transition from CAD to BIM production for BTA, and he directs the company's overall BIM strategies, standards, and technology operations while he oversees BIM integration with BTA's Engineering Team members. He is currently a member of several national committees, including the National CAD Standards Project Committee, the United States National BIM Standard Project Committee, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers / Industry BIM CIM Consortium. Additionally, he is currently engaged in the rewrite of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs’ BIM and CAD standards. He has often presented on the topic of BIM/CAD workflows and standards at venues such as Autodesk University, National Institute of Building Sciences Building Innovation 2014 Conference and Expo, GeoBuiz, and various Society of American Military Engineer and Construction Specification Institute chapter events.
