Creating Factory Assets in Inventor


Module overview

In this module, you will learn the process for creating parametric factory assets for use with the Autodesk Factory Design Utilities. This starts with reviewing the parametric model in Inventor, then preparing the asset in the asset publishing environment before testing and publishing it to a central asset library.

This module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. By the end of the module, you should be able to:

  • Review a parametric Inventor model
  • Review the asset publishing environment
  • Add an asset landing surface
  • Create asset connectors
  • Establish asset properties
  • Review optional asset variations and the BIM Exchange workflow
  • Publish and test the asset locally
  • Move the asset to Vault
