Now, InfraWorks' the Storyboard Tool makes this process very easy in that.
00:21
It provides preset tools so that you don't have to manage the visualization tools while you're trying to make the visualization of your project.
00:33
I am not a visualization specialist.
00:35
I love the idea of it, but I'm not very good at it.
00:38
And the Storyboard Tools make this very easy for someone even like myself to do.
00:44
I can go into the Present/Share tab of the ribbon, the Present panel, and the first icon there is Storyboard Creator.
00:51
I'll click on that.
00:53
Now, in here, we've got a storyboard here.
00:55
And then any kind of camera view that we're adding or animation that we're adding will be added here.
01:01
The tool that I'm going to start off with is, it's got some dotted line here.
01:07
This is the Path tool.
01:09
I'm going to use the Create from Component Road.
01:11
So, I'll select on that and then come in and select on this component road.
01:16
It's asking me, okay, along this component road, where do you want the camera?
01:20
I want to look at this like I'm driving in one of the lanes.
01:24
So, I'm going to go 6 feet to the right, a positive 6 feet.
01:27
And my eyeball is 3 feet up off the roadway.
01:30
I also can identify a target.
01:32
In my case, I'm going to put it right in front of me,
01:35
but I could be driving off to the side or have my camera off to the side of the road, looking at the roadway for a certain perspective.
01:44
I am also going to change my speed here.
01:46
See that you've got a couple of presets to choose.
01:49
I'm actually going to choose 45 miles per hour.
01:52
And then I'll choose "Create".
01:55
And that will create those camera views and that kind of panning around a section of our roadway.
02:02
You can see there's quite a bit for the distance that we're going to cover at 45 miles per hour.
02:07
I'll click the plus sign just to get a kind of a preview of what this will look like.
02:10
It starts us at the beginning of their component road,
02:13
which is why I kind of shorten it for this version of it, and then drives us into the bridge and so forth.
02:22
I'm actually going to zip through to the end and take a look at how that end looks.
02:30
I don't want to go all the way to the end of the roadway.
02:33
Once I'm done with the bridge, I want to end this.
02:36
So, I'm going to select on individual section views or individual storyboard views,
02:42
and just hit my "Delete" key and delete those out.
02:47
And then I'm going to hit "Play" so that--
02:49
Actually, I'm going to hit "Stop" and then "Play", so it plays it just to the end of that.
02:55
That way, I can say, well, now from here, I want to do something else.
02:59
I am going to actually browse around.
03:03
I'm going to left click and orbit, just like I would in regular InfraWorks.
03:07
This is actually still your model.
03:09
All the key frames are doing are showing you where the camera will be at certain times of this roadway.
03:16
So, I'm going to come down here, zoom in, and orbit until I get a nice angle on my bridge.
03:24
I want to tell the story of this bridge in an orbit or in a turn view here.
03:30
I'm going to go to the second tool, right next to the Path tool.
03:33
These are other tools that are available for creating visuals.
03:37
Including in this case, I'm going to use the lookaround animation.
03:41
That drops a view in and gives me some settings to work with.
03:45
Again, very friendly to those that are not familiar with animation tools.
03:50
This tool, I'm going to angle to the left-- actually I'm going to angle to the right.
03:55
I want to go about 90 degrees.
03:58
And I don't want to angle up or down, but you could do that while you're setting this up.
04:04
I do also want to fade in on this view.
04:09
So, I'll fade to black.
04:11
I'm going to double click and set my camera back just a little bit on that path and come in.
04:17
It'll fade out and fade in into that rotation view.
04:21
In fact, that's a little bit far out.
04:23
And it's a little out of frame.
04:25
So, I'll come back into that item and say, I do want to angle up,
04:28
maybe about 10 degrees, and just see what that does.
04:31
Now, I can also just preview that particular shot and see how that looks and make other adjustments as I go.
04:40
Now, again, I am going to come around here to the bridgeway.
04:47
Maybe, I want to identify those piers that we have created.
04:51
I'm going to enter in another premade tool.
04:57
I'm going to add a crane animation.
04:59
And I'm going to back up.
05:04
That's almost 500 feet.
05:06
Let's go 200 feet and with a distance up of 20, just to give it some movement.
05:15
We preview that and see what that's going to look like.
05:20
I could probably do a little bit more up.
05:23
So, I'll do 50 feet up.
05:26
And now, I'll click "Play" so we can see the result of all that.
