Asset chains in Factory Design

Create a safety fence using asset chains.

In AutoCAD, using the AutoCAD Factory Asset Browser,

you can create a safety fence using asset chains.

To start, open the Asset Browser, if it is not already open.

From the Factory ribbon, expand Palettes and select Asset Browser.

In the Asset Browser, in the Search assets field, enter “Safety Fence (Chain)”.

Click Search.

To draw the safety fence, drag the Safety Fence (Chain) asset and drop it into the New Cell.

Snap it to the center of the two circles.

A polyline is created.

Press ENTER to finish the command.

Now, you need to convert the polyline into a chain of individual assets.

Select the polyline you just created.

Then, on the Factory ribbon, Factory assets panel, click Convert Asset Chains.

The polyline turns into a series of connected safety fence assets and is no longer a safety fence chain.

All the shortened or custom chain segments are red by default.

The welding cell is complete.

From the Quick Access toolbar, click Save, and then Close the New Cell 002 model tab.

In the Factory tab, Factory Assets panel, click Update Assets to update the New Cell layout.

Click Save, then Close the Manufacturing Facility Overall Layout 001 model tab.
