In Inventor Factory Design, if a user asset has been published with variants,
00:09
a number icon appears in the upper left corner of the asset in the Asset Browser to indicate the number of variations.
00:18
The easiest way to change an asset variant is within the layout,
00:23
but you can also use the Factory Properties browser.
00:27
Begin with factory assets already placed onto an Inventor Factory layout.
00:32
In this example, the TD_Arm Welding Clamp 48 asset has variants.
00:39
To change the variant, first, select TD_Arm Welding Clamp 48.
00:45
Then, right click the asset and select Factory > Asset Variant.
00:52
Choose a variation from the flyout.
00:54
By default, variations have names such as Variant_1 and Variant_2, but they can be renamed.
01:03
Here, select Double.
01:06
The double variant clamp appears in the layout.
01:09
You can also change an asset variant from within the Factory Properties browser.
01:15
With the asset selected on the layout, in the Factory Properties browser,
01:20
expand the Selected Variant drop-down and choose Single.
01:26
Then, in the Factory Properties toolbar, click Update.
01:30
When you are done making changes, Save the layout.
