Add a product and assembly routing to a layout, and analyze the transportation in Factory Design.
Transcript
00:04
In Factory Design, you can add products and routings to a layout using the Material Flow Browser.
00:09
Once these are added, you can analyze transportation.
00:13
In this example, you add a product and assembly routing,
00:17
and then determine the transportation cost of the existing layout.
00:21
To begin, in AutoCAD, navigate to and open an existing DWG file.
00:26
To follow along with this tutorial, open the file Material Flow Analysis_001.dwg, which already has two stations.
00:37
If the Material Flow panel is not open, from the ribbon, Factory tab, Tools panel, expand Palettes.
00:45
Select and open Material Flow.
00:48
In the Material Flow Browser, select the Products tab.
00:52
To create a product, right-click and select Create.
00:57
Rename the product “Desk Assy”.
01:01
Now, create three instances of this product to add to the assembly.
01:05
Right-click the new Desk Assy node and select Add.
01:10
Rename the entry as “Side Panels” and press ENTER.
01:14
Right click the Desk Assy node again and select Add,
01:18
then rename the entry “Desktop Panel” and press ENTER.
01:23
Repeat these steps to add another copy named “Drawers”.
01:29
Next, set up the assembly routing.
01:32
From the ribbon, Material Flow panel, select Routing.
01:36
On the Material Flow Browser, select the Side Panels sub-component.
01:42
Then, on the layout, select the station markers in sequence, starting with station 1 on the left,
01:48
station 2 on the right, 3 at the lower left, 4 second from the left, and finally, 5 second from the right.
02:02
On your keyboard, press ENTER.
02:05
With product and assembly routing added, you can now analyze the transportation cost for the existing configuration.
02:11
On the Factory tab, Layout panel, select Transportation.
02:16
The transportation and total cost indicators display the analysis results, including total time and distance for the current layout.
